We are located on Central Avenue one block west of University Blvd. We are a locally owned, independent practice with no corporate affiliation. ABQ Spay & Neuter operates differently than a traditional veterinary clinic. We do not see wellness or sick pet appointments. All we do is surgery, mainly spay and neuter, but other surgeries as well. We also offer dental cleanings and extractions with dental radiographs. While a traditional veterinary clinic may perform 4-5 surgeries in a day, we perform 20-25 surgeries and 4-5 dentals. This keeps our prices low, but still allows us to provide high quality care to our patients. Our mission is to provide accessible and affordable veterinary care to the community while prioritizing staff well-being and mental health.

We are closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of every week. Job Description As a Kennel Assistant , you will directly assist the veterinarian and veterinary assistants. You will also have the opportunity to learn new skills and advance to a veterinary assistant over time.

Schedule:

Tuesday-Friday, 7 AM - 2 PM (24 hours per week) Your starting roles will include: Assisting with patient check-in Recover patients from anesthesia Cleaning kennels Set-up, breakdown, cleaning, and maintaining of medical equipment. Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital. How You'll Succeed Comfortable interacting with pets and clients with calm and compassion Have strong communication skills Be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds Be detail-oriented and a team-player Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent - required Animal handling experience preferred

Pay:

$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
