The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets in our facility. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our kennel, ensuring that all animals receive the attention and care they need. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Assist with animal restraint during veterinary procedures as needed. Support pet owners with customer service inquiries and provide information about services offered. Help with the intake and discharge process of pets, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Participate in training sessions for new staff members on proper animal handling techniques. Skills Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician is preferred but not required. Knowledge of pet care practices, including grooming and feeding requirements. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during handling. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Previous experience in a kennel or pet sitting environment is advantageous. Ability to work well in a team setting while also being self-motivated. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
