In Person - At address listed Position Overview Blue Diamond Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable and motivated Overnight Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. This role works under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, Office Manager, and Veterinary Technician Supervisor. The Overnight Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care outside of regular business hours. Responsibilities include monitoring hospitalized patients, administering treatments as directed, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and preparing the facility for the day team. Essential Job Functions Monitor all hospitalized patients overnight, including pre- and post-operative cases Communicate patient status updates to the attending veterinarian Administer oral and injectable medications as directed Place IV catheters and draw blood Calculate fluid rates, monitor fluid pumps, and chart patient treatments accurately Meet the nursing care needs of hospitalized patients Perform radiographs with proper positioning for specialist review Safely and effectively restrain patients independently when necessary Feed, walk, bathe patients, and clean kennels Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and exam rooms in accordance with hospital standards Complete housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, laundry, sanitizing, trash disposal, and restocking supplies Assist doctors and technicians as needed Overnight team members are responsible for ensuring the hospital is cleaned, stocked, and fully prepared to support efficient daytime operations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted Comfortable working with fecal matter, urine, blood, and cleaning chemicals Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience (preferred) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong work ethic and reliability Physical stamina and agility Passion for animal welfare Training New hires will complete an initial training period on day and evening shifts before transitioning to overnight hours.
