Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Hudson Valley Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue that offers afforable vet services from wellness appointments, surgical procedures, dentals, xrays and much more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, working in a fast pace, busy enviroment providing top quality veternary care. Responsiblilties
- Assist veterinarians in examinations and treatments
- Administer medications under the direction of a veterinarian
- Cleaning cages/kennels of in-house pets
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic.
- Assist with client communication to front desk Requirements
- Experience or knowledge in veterinary critical care and pet care
- Familiarity with veterinary technician duties is a plus
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Experience in dog/cat handling, and restraint.
- Ability to handle veterinary critical care situations with composure
- Ability to handle a fast pace enviroment.
