Founded in 1966 as part of the prestigious State University of New York (SUNY), Genesee Community College serves a 2500 square mile region in the counties of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming. The spacious campus boasts a new Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades Lab, along with a Criminal Justice lab, Veterinary Tech lab, Solar Electric Technician lab, Nursing lab, Digital Arts Lab and Computerized Drafting & Design Lab. Additionally, the campus houses the Stuart Steiner Performing Arts Center, Roz Steiner Art Gallery, Alfred C. O'Connell Library and Child Care Center. The Richard C. Call Arena features a multi-use field house, classrooms, locker rooms, state-of-the-art fitness center, coach offices and a press box overlooking the new turf field. College Village, a student housing community, offers suite and communal style student housing at the Batavia campus. Veterinary technicians work with veterinarians in private practice as well as in zoos, animal shelters, wildlife facilities and in research labs. Some technicians have careers with pharmaceutical companies, pet food companies or in diagnostic laboratories. GCC's Vet Tech program was established in 2010 and received full American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accreditation in 2017. The program is accredited through 2028 after passing the most recent AVMA review in 2022. The program also boasts a very successful passing rate of 86% for first time test takers on national board exam. Incumbent must be mindful of and develop solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.Job Requirements:
Licensed veterinarian or a credentialed veterinary technician who must be a graduate of an AVMA accredited program and is currently licensed in NY State. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or Associate's in Veterinary Technology with at least 3 years of experience in the field is required.Additional Information:

This is a part-time instructor position teaching at the Batavia Campus. This position pays a rate of $825 per contact or credit hour.BENEFITS
