Veterinary Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the veterinarian and technicians with animal restraint, administration of treatments, preparation of animals for surgery, and other various procedures and services provided by the Lipsey Clinic. They will be responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and space that will be used in animal procedures. This individual will provide care, cleaning, and feeding of animals that are under the care of the Veterinary Department. The Veterinary Assistant will also assist with x-rays, lab work, entering medical information into the medical record, and maintaining the facility in a clean and orderly manner. Animal-handling and restraint experience is required. This individual will participate in creating a thriving culture of philanthropy at the SPCA Serving Erie County by increasing awareness and support of our organization. This is achieved by being knowledgeable and supportive of SPCA programs and events, sharing your passion for service to animals and people within our community, and serving as an inspiration by providing an exemplary level of animal care and guest service.

Pay:

$17.00 per hour
