Job Description

Part-Time Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative New Castle Veterinary Hospital is looking for a friendly, dependable, and team-oriented Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital! This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on patient care and providing exceptional client service, as the role will support both our treatment area and front desk. The majority of the daily responsibilities will be as a veterinary assistant. Schedule Monday:
8:00 AM•5:00
PM Wednesday:
8:00 AM•5:00
PM Every Other Tuesday:
8:30 AM•12:00 PM Compensation $19.00•20.00 per hour , based on experience. Key Reponsibilities Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments Safely restrain patients and support routine procedures Is dependable, organized, efficient, with a strong desire to learn and grow Communicates professionally and works well as part of a team Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized hospital Stock supplies and assist with daily hospital operations Provide support during medical procedures, including setting up equipment, holding animals, and monitoring their well-being. Welcome clients and provide outstanding customer service Answer phones, schedule appointments, and process payments Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary team Jump in wherever needed to help support the hospital and create a positive experience for our patients and clients
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting. Strong animal handling skills and comfort working with a variety of species. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions closely. Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Can multitask while maintaining excellent attention to detail Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Physical stamina to lift and carry animals, stand for extended periods, and perform cleaning tasks.
