Job Description
Overview Are you as Veterinary Technician or Assistant looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking one full time (35-40hrs/week) person to join our team. Weekdays only, no nights, weekends or holidays but must have availability Monday through Friday. Our practice is small but growing and our small staff and veterinarian need more support to ensure we continue to provide the quality of care our practice values. We have a fast passed but organized work flow in a clinic striving to provide high quality affordable veterinary services for dogs and cats. We are a small drama free clinic open to new ideas and new ways of providing outstanding service and patient care without compromising our beliefs or goals. Seeking motivated individual that works well both independently and with others. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments Check in patients and aquire patient history and pertinent medical information and update digital records Perform blood draws, sample collection, place IV catheters, radiographs, surgery prep, intubate patients, monitor anesthesia, and dental prep Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic or hospital Provide care for animals in clinic Monitor animals pre and post-surgery or during treatment Assist with digital record keeping Administer medications and other treatments where appropriate Utilize knowledge of veterinary critical care to support urgent/ daytime emergency cases Interact with clients both in person, on the phone and via email Experience Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant is preferred however new technician graduates or those currently enrolled in a technician program would be considered Knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods a must Familiarity with specimen procedures in a veterinary setting is a plus Excellent computer skills are a must Compensation is based on experience, individual drive and certification Well organized and able to multi-task ideal
