About the Opportunity This is not your typical Veterinary Assistant position. At Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic, we are searching for a Veterinary Assistant who serves as a true extension of the doctor-client relationship. This role will primarily function as an Exam Room Veterinary Assistant , helping support doctors throughout appointments while serving as a client care ambassador for the hospital. We are looking for someone who naturally forms relationships, communicates with confidence and compassion, and enjoys providing a concierge-style experience for every client who walks through our doors. https://abingdonsquarevet.com Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms and support doctors during appointments Obtain patient histories and document medical information accurately Collect patient vitals and assist with patient handling Serve as a liaison between doctors and clients Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions Conduct follow-up calls after appointments and procedures Build strong relationships with clients and their pets Help ensure every client feels welcomed, informed, and supported Assist with patient treatments and routine nursing care as needed Support hospital workflow and patient flow throughout the day Work collaboratively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives Who Will Thrive In This Role This role is perfect for someone who: Loves talking with clients and educating pet owners Enjoys building long-term relationships with families and patients Has a naturally warm, welcoming, and compassionate personality Thrives in a hospitality-driven environment Loves creating personalized experiences for clients Takes pride in exceptional communication and follow-through Enjoys making follow-up calls and checking in with clients Understands the importance of trust in veterinary medicine Wants to be a key part of the client experience, not just the medical experience Qualifications Previous Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Client Communication Specialist/Receptionist experience preferred Strong client communication skills required Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required Experience obtaining patient histories and vitals preferred Comfortable working in a fast-paced general practice environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Positive, team-oriented attitude Fear Free experience is a plus Vetspire experience is a plus but not required Schedule We believe in work-life balance and offer: Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week Full-time employment Rotating Saturdays Consistent scheduling whenever possible Compensation $21.00
00 per hour Compensation is based on experience, technical proficiency, and overall skill set.
