We are seeking a cross-trained Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative (TA/CSR) to join our growing team. This unique position bridges our front and back-of-house teams, supporting both patient care and client communication. Position Overview The ideal candidate will be an energetic, team-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of client education and patient comfort. This role provides the opportunity to gain experience in both technical and client service aspects of veterinary medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
Veterinary Assistant Duties Safely and confidently restrain dogs and cats for exams, treatments, and procedures (minimum one year of restraint experience required) Assist veterinarians and licensed technicians with appointments, surgeries, and diagnostics Prepare treatment areas, clean, and restock rooms between patients Accurately record medical information into PIMS software Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures Maintain a clean, organized, environment for pets and people Basic hospital maintenance Client Service Representative Duties Greet clients warmly and provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone Schedule appointments, process payments, and manage patient check-in/check-out Communicate treatment plans, estimates, and post-visit instructions clearly and compassionately Support the medical team by ensuring accurate information flow between clients and staff Handle multi-line phone systems and email communications efficiently
Skills & Qualifications Required:
Minimum 1 year of hands-on animal restraint experience in a veterinary or shelter setting Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and detail-oriented in a busy environment Team player with a positive attitude and a genuine love for animals Comfortable using computers and learning veterinary software (experience with AVImark is a plus) Reliable attendance and flexibility to help where needed Why Join South Towne Veterinary Hospital?
