Veterinary Assistant - Full-Time Lakeshore Animal Hospital | Waterloo, NY $18-$20/hour, depending on experience Lakeshore Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a busy, independently owned small-animal practice serving the Waterloo and surrounding communities since 2002. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with both animals and people, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in providing excellent patient and client care. Previous veterinary experience is preferred, although we are willing to consider candidates with the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities may include:

Assisting veterinarians with appointments and patient care Safe animal handling and restraint Preparing exam and treatment areas Assisting with treatments and procedures Preparing patients and equipment for surgery Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining medical equipment Maintaining clean and organized patient and hospital areas Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients Supporting other members of the veterinary team as needed What we're looking for: Dependable and professional Compassionate and comfortable working with dogs and cats Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with a positive attitude Attention to detail and willingness to learn Previous veterinary or animal-care experience preferred

Schedule:

Our hospital hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, and Friday, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. No on-call duty.
