VCA SylvaniaVET Animal Hospital is expanding our Patient Care Team and seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant. Compensation Pay range is $15 - 18/hr and is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials. The Role As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting patient care and enhancing the client experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to grow their skills within a supportive and well-established team. What You'll Do Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments Safely restrain pets for exams and procedures using Fear Free techniques Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites Support anesthesia and surgical procedures as needed Collect samples and assist with in-house laboratory diagnostics Administer medications directed by the DVM Perform basic husbandry and nursing care for hospitalized patients Maintain accurate and thorough medical records Educate clients on general pet care, medications, and discharge instructions Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment Plus more!
