4 weeks About Us PAWS Veterinary Partners is a modern, mobile veterinary urgent care service providing compassionate, in‑home medical care to pets across NW Ohio and SE Michigan. We specialize in urgent care, palliative support, chronic condition monitoring, and stress‑free care delivered directly to the client's home.
Our mission is simple:
bring high‑quality veterinary care to pets where they feel safest — at home. We are a new startup and looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a dynamic, hands‑on environment and values empathy, teamwork, and exceptional client communication. Position Overview The Veterinary Assistant will support the veterinarian during mobile urgent care appointments, assist with patient handling, prepare equipment, maintain medical records, and ensure a smooth, professional client experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem‑solving, and working closely with both pets and their people. Key Responsibilities Assist the veterinarian during exams, urgent care visits, and in‑home procedures Safely restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments Prepare and maintain medical supplies, equipment, and mobile clinic inventory Collect samples (fecal, urine, blood—if trained) and perform basic diagnostic tests Document medical notes accurately and efficiently Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile unit Support triage, patient monitoring, and follow‑up care as needed Uphold PAWS Veterinary Partners' standards of professionalism, empathy, and patient comfort Other veterinary/technician support
Qualifications Required:
Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar role Strong animal handling and restraint skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to lift 40+ lbs and assist with larger pets Comfort working in a mobile, fast‑paced environment Excellent communication and customer‑service skills Reliability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail
Preferred:

Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
