Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will support animal care, assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, and ensure a clean and organized clinic environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for animal welfare and hands-on veterinary experience to contribute to high-quality pet care in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Administer medications under veterinarian supervision Maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas Handle various species including dogs and cats, utilizing animal handling skills and knowledge of animal physiology Perform laboratory procedures such as sample collection and processing, maintaining accurate records Aid in pet care activities such as feeding, walking, and monitoring behavior to promote animal well-being Assist front desk staff with client communication, appointment scheduling, and pet record management Maintain a sterile environment by practicing proper aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheterization, sugery preparation, and medication administration Support veterinary technicians with critical care tasks as needed Qualifications Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred; pet care or animal handling skills highly valued Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology essential for effective assistance Experience with dog and cat handling, laboratory procedures, and laboratory equipment is advantageous Ability to perform animal restraint safely across different species including dogs and cats Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and aseptic techniques Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing compassionate care This position is ideal for individuals eager to expand their veterinary knowledge while making a positive impact on animals' lives.
