Job Summary Join our busy veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support our veterinarian by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and clinic operations. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure a smooth workflow, promote animal welfare, and create a welcoming environment for pet owners. Responsibilities Excellent communication skills to gather patient history from pet owners regarding an exam or surgery Strong record keeping skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical documentation Assist the veterianian during examainations, procedures and surgeries Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to keep the veterinarian safe as well as you Assist surgery prep and post-operative care Give pet care instructions, medication schedules, and follow-up appointments or surgeries Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is beneficial Detail-oriented handling routine administrative duties, such as but not limited to: Answering phones Scheduling appointments Maintaining medical records Posting and collecting payments Computer veterinary software Self-motivated Works well with other team members Quick learner Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization Administer medications and immunizations as directed by the veterinarian Manage inventory by stocking supplies, medications and notifying management of shortages Ability to remain calm and compassionate in stressful or emotional situations Physically able to lift up to 50# Must have an update resume
