Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection. Provide compassionate pet care and support pet owners with basic pet husbandry advice. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for examinations, treatments, and laboratory procedures. Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques during surgeries, laboratory work, and patient care to prevent infections. Support laboratory testing by preparing samples, operating diagnostic equipment, and recording results accurately. Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing patient records. Monitor hospitalized animals closely, including performing animal catheterization when necessary and observing animal physiology for signs of distress or improvement. Assist with large animal responsibilities and supporting routine procedures/appointments. Requirements Experience in veterinary critical care environments is a plus, demonstrating ability to handle urgent situations calmly and efficiently. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures. Skilled in animal restraint techniques for dogs, cats, and other species; familiarity with pet care best practices. Ability to administer medications accurately following veterinarian instructions; experience with animal catheterization preferred. Excellent animal handling skills with a focus on safety for both animals and staff; experience with front desk operations is beneficial. Equine/Bovine experience is advantageous for clinics that serve larger animals; knowledge of aseptic techniques essential for surgical support. Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a genuine love for animals; ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
