Sycamore Veterinary Hospital is looking for an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to help us continue providing outstanding care to pets in the Newtown community. We care for a wide variety of medical and surgical cases using modern equipment and a compassionate, low-stress approach. What You'll Be Doing Every day brings something different. Depending on the caseload, you'll have the opportunity to: Prepare patients for examinations and treatments Assist doctors during appointments Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats Obtain patient histories and record medical information Collect laboratory samples and assist with diagnostics Support surgical and dental procedures Monitor recovering patients Fill medications and prepare prescriptions Educate clients on preventive care and at-home instructions Help maintain a clean, organized treatment area We're Looking For Someone Who Has at least one year of veterinary assistant experience Enjoys working with both pets and people Can stay organized in a busy hospital setting Communicates well with teammates and clients Takes initiative and enjoys learning new skills Brings a positive attitude and dependable work ethic every day Experience with surgery, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, or anesthesia is appreciated, but we're happy to continue developing the skills of motivated candidates.
