Sycamore Veterinary Hospital is looking for an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to help us continue providing outstanding care to pets in the Newtown community.

What You'll Be DoingEvery day brings something different. Depending on the caseload, you'll have the opportunity to:
Prepare patients for examinations and treatmentsAssist doctors during appointmentsSafely handle and restrain dogs and catsObtain patient histories and record medical informationCollect laboratory samples and assist with diagnosticsSupport surgical and dental proceduresMonitor recovering patientsFill medications and prepare prescriptionsEducate clients on preventive care and at-home instructionsHelp maintain a clean, organized treatment areaWe're Looking For Someone WhoHas at least one year of veterinary assistant experienceEnjoys working with both pets and peopleCan stay organized in a busy hospital settingCommunicates well with teammates and clientsTakes initiative and enjoys learning new skillsBrings a positive attitude and dependable work ethic every dayExperience with surgery, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, or anesthesia is appreciated, but we're happy to continue developing the skills of motivated candidates.
