Job Description

Veterinary Assistant Day & Overnight Shifts AvailableQuakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking compassionate and dependable Veterinary Assistants to join our small animal team. We are hiring for both daytime and overnight positions in our 24-hour veterinary hospital.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with animals in a fast-paced clinical environment and are interested in supporting both routine and emergency veterinary care.

Position ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include:

Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians during exams and treatmentsSafely handling and restraining animalsPerforming basic laboratory tasks and collecting samplesAdministering medications as directed by a veterinarianPreparing and maintaining treatment and surgical areasTaking radiographs under supervisionFilling prescriptions and processing refill requestsEntering patient information and charges into the hospital databaseCommunicating professionally with clients and team membersScheduleFull-time and part-time positions are available.

Schedules may include:

Day, evening, or overnight shiftsWeekendsHolidaysRotating on-call shifts, depending on department needsQualificationsPreferred qualifications include:

Previous experience working with animals or in a veterinary settingStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to multitask and remain organizedAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical RequirementsApplicants should be able to:

Lift up to 40 pounds regularlyAssist with lifting larger animals with team supportStand and walk for extended periodsHandle and walk large dogs safelyReasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
