Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. Your passion for animals and strong communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Duties Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up to date. Process payments and manage billing inquiries. Assist veterinary staff with patient intake, including basic assessments of animals. Provide information on pet care, vaccinations, and clinic services to clients. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants to facilitate smooth operations. Skills To excel in this role, candidates should possess a combination of essential skills including: Proficiency in Veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with staff and clients. Experience in dog handling to assist with patient management. Knowledge of pet care practices to provide accurate advice to pet owners. Familiarity with animal catheterization and animal restraint techniques is preferred. Background as a Veterinary technician or Veterinary assistant is advantageous. Understanding of aseptic technique to maintain hygiene standards in the clinic. Ability to handle veterinary critical care situations calmly and efficiently.
