Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures once trained. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Monitor vital signs and provide post-operative care to animals. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Prepare animals for surgery, including animal catheterization when necessary. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennel areas. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques. Requirements License or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred. Experience in pet care or animal husbandry is highly desirable. Proficiency in animal restraint methods and handling techniques. Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine. Knowledge of dog training principles is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively. Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately. A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Ability to work well in a team-oriented setting while also being self-motivated.
