In this vital role, you will support the daily operations of our veterinary clinic or animal shelter by providing compassionate animal handling, maintaining clean and safe kennel environments, and assisting veterinary staff with animal care tasks. Duties Assist with animal intake, discharge, and daily care routines to ensure optimal health and comfort Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas following aseptic techniques to prevent infection Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques suitable for different energy levels and sizes Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any concerns or abnormalities promptly Support pet care activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and exercise to promote well-being Help manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and maintaining accurate records-if applicable Assist with daily cleaning and deep cleaning Contribute to a positive environment by engaging with animals patiently and compassionately Qualifications Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and basic medical procedures is a plus Experience in animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and aseptic procedures is highly desirable Familiarity with pet care routines including feeding schedules and behavioral management Ability to handle dogs confidently and safely using proper dog handling techniques Strong communication skills for effective teamwork within a veterinary or shelter environment Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or equipment, and work in a fast-paced setting Previous veterinary clinic experience or veterinary assistant background is advantageous but not mandatory Join us in creating a caring environment where animals receive the highest quality of care!
