Veterinary Technician - Animal Shelter & Spay/Neuter Clinic The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County is seeking a compassionate, hardworking Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position supports our shelter and high-volume spay/neuter clinic by providing excellent patient care, assisting with surgery, and ensuring the health and well-being of every animal.

Responsibilities:

Perform animal intakes and health assessments. Safely handle animals using Fear Free techniques whenever possible. Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments. Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery. Maintain accurate medical records. Clean and disinfect clinic areas, prepare surgical packs, and stock supplies. Monitor animal health and report medical or behavioral concerns. Work closely with veterinarians, the Clinic Supervisor, and shelter staff to provide exceptional care.

Qualifications:

Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter preferred. Knowledge of animal handling, basic veterinary care, and anesthesia monitoring. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Compassion for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
