$16.00 / hour Description Are you passionate about animal care and looking to grow your career in veterinary medicine? We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced professionals and those eager to build hands-on skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Animal Care & Patient Support Assist with safely handling and restraining animals during exams and procedures Provide basic care including feeding, bathing, and exercising patients Administer medications as directed by veterinarians Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the medical team Facility Maintenance & Safety Clean and sanitize kennels, exam rooms, and treatment areas Sterilize and maintain surgical and medical instruments Ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff Client Service & Communication Greet clients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls/inquiries Educate clients on basic pet care, medications, and treatment plans Relay important information between clients and veterinary staff Administrative & Operational Support Maintain accurate patient records and update medical files Assist with billing, invoicing, and financial transactions Monitor inventory levels and help order supplies as needed Laboratory & Diagnostic Assistance Collect and prepare laboratory samples Assist with diagnostic procedures such as X-rays and blood draws Support veterinarians during exams and treatments Emergency & Critical Care Support Assist during emergency situations and urgent care procedures Follow established protocols to support patient stabilization and treatment Professional Development Stay current on veterinary best practices and procedures Participate in ongoing training and continuing education opportunities Skills Knowledge and Expertise Previous veterinary experience preferred but not required Veterinary Assistant certification or Veterinary Technician licensure is a plus Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Compassionate approach to patient care and client service Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision insurance Employee discounts Flexible schedules 401K with company match Career development and training
