Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with animals, takes pride in cleanliness and organization, and is eager to support a veterinary team in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized animals, including feeding, walking, bathing, and enrichment Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas, treatment rooms, and clinic grounds Monitor and report any signs of illness, distress, or behavioral changes in animals Assist veterinary staff with restraint and care during treatments or exams when needed Wash dishes, do laundry, and maintain a well-organized supply area Ensure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for during their stay
Qualifications:
Prior experience in animal care or kennel work is preferred but not required Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability are a must Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a physically active environment Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and clinic procedures
Work Schedule Requirements:
Must be available to work weekends and holidays Shifts may include mornings, evenings, and occasional split shifts depending on animal care needs Flexibility in scheduling is highly valued, especially during peak boarding seasons and holidays Why Work With Us?
