Job Description

At Lebanon Road Animal Hospital, we're dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets in our community. We're seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help us ensure every pet receives the attention, care, and love they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the health and well-being of pets and communicate any concerns to senior staff. Assist with medical treatments and administer medications under supervision. Deliver outstanding customer service by interacting with pet owners and addressing their questions. Take dogs on walks for bathroom breaks and exercise. Assist with daily facility tasks, including laundry and cleaning. Support our doctors and technicians as needed during exams and treatments. Provide loving care for dogs and cats to enhance their experience with us. Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and set up necessary tests (fecal, skin scrapings, etc.). Safely hold or restrain pets during exams or treatments when necessary. Help prepare in-house laboratory tests. Maintain the clinic's cleanliness, including cleaning dishes, mopping, and removing trash. Assist in cleaning animal waste, food spills, and debris from kennels. Learn about animal behavior and effective restraint techniques.
What We're Looking For:
A genuine passion for working with animals, providing exceptional client care, and learning. Previous experience in pet care, grooming, or a veterinary setting is a plus. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team. Comfortable handling large dogs and managing fast-paced environments. Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility. Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 35 lbs without assistance (50 lbs with assistance). Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision. Willingness to grow and learn in the field of animal care.
