Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of experience assisting with surgery, monitoring anesthesia and performing dental x-rays and cleanings. The Veterinary Surgical Assistant or Technician will be responsible for supporting the veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our patients, while also assisting with daily operations, appointments, and maintaining a clean and organized facility.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with surgeries, appointments and treatments.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animals.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments, including medication administration and lab results.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely, as necessary.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient health or behavior.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility, including the hospital area, kennels, and reception area.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures, including catheterization and blood draws.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years of experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting Proficiency with dental x-rays and prophylaxis Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy and physiology. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as handle animals of all sizes. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Fear Free Certification highly desired. A passion for helping animals and a commitment to their well-being.
