What You'll Do As a Kennel Technician, you'll help us provide a clean, safe, comfortable environment for our patients and support the veterinary team throughout the day.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing attentive care to hospitalized and boarding patients Walking dogs and providing appropriate exercise and enrichment Feeding patients according to their individual instructions Refreshing water and monitoring food and water intake Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, runs, cages, and patient areas Providing fresh bedding and keeping patients clean and comfortable Monitoring pets for changes in behavior, appetite, elimination, or overall well-being and communicating concerns to the medical team Safely handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Assisting veterinary technicians and assistants with patients when needed Cleaning and maintaining treatment, kennel, and common areas Laundry, dishes, and general hospital cleaning Restocking supplies and helping keep the hospital organized Giving patients plenty of kindness, patience, and TLC Jumping in to support teammates wherever needed What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Paid vacation and holidays Flexible scheduling Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees Opportunities for learning and professional growth Employee pet care discount Scrubs/uniform allowance Supportive management and a collaborative team environment The opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital Who We're Looking For We'd love to meet someone who: Genuinely enjoys working with animals and treats every patient with kindness and compassion Is dependable, punctual, and takes pride in doing a job well Is comfortable working with both dogs and cats Pays attention to details and notices when something doesn't seem right Is willing to clean — a lot! Keeping our hospital clean and our patients comfortable is an important part of this position Can stay organized and manage priorities in a busy environment Communicates well with teammates and is comfortable asking questions Has a positive attitude and is willing to jump in wherever help is needed Is comfortable with the physical nature of the job, including being on their feet for extended periods Wants to learn and grow as part of a veterinary team Previous animal care or veterinary experience is a plus, but we're happy to consider the right person who has a strong work ethic, a great attitude, and a genuine desire to care for animals. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform the physical duties associated with animal care, including bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and cleaning.
