Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and clinic operations. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure our patients receive compassionate treatment while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient clinic environment. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, animal catheterization, and surgical assistance Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and equipment through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices Help with record keeping by accurately documenting patient information, treatments, medications, and procedures using veterinary terminology Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, follow-up appointments, and general inquiries to foster trust and clarity Support animal husbandry activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness Assist in emergency situations by providing critical care support under supervision in veterinary critical care settings Qualifications Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly desirable Knowledge of animal handling techniques for dogs, cats, and equines is preferred Experience with surgery preparation, medication administration, IV insertion, and animal catheterization is a plus Familiarity with veterinary terminology, record keeping protocols, and animal physiology enhances your effectiveness in this role Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration Commitment to animal welfare through compassionate care and adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) use Embark on a rewarding career where every day brings new opportunities to make a difference in animals' lives. Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
