Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, treatment procedures, and client communication. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure our furry, feathered, and hoofed patients receive the highest quality care in a compassionate environment. Duties Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, injections, and wound care Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas, laboratories, and kennels Help with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and exercise routines Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by collecting samples or setting up equipment Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, monitoring behavior, and providing comfort to hospitalized animals Support front desk activities by scheduling appointments, updating records, and communicating with pet owners Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal care background preferred; strong animal husbandry skills are essential Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians highly desirable Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for dogs, cats, horses (equine experience is a plus) Familiarity with medication administration methods including injections and oral treatments Excellent animal handling skills combined with a compassionate attitude towards pets and their owners Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures in a veterinary setting Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Join us to advance your career in veterinary medicine!
