Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Assistant / Tech Assistant, where your passion for animals and dedication to exceptional pet care will shine! In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing top-quality care and comfort to our furry guests, ensuring their safety, cleanliness, and well-being. You'll be responsible for selected custodial duties, stocking rooms, kennel sanitation and will help our technicians as needed. Responsibilities Handle dogs safely and confidently, ensuring proper restraint and comfort during walking, feeding, and medical procedures Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to promote a hygienic environment for animals Support veterinary staff with basic animal care tasks such as feeding, administering medications, and monitoring health status Assist veterinary staff with medical procedures and appointments. Maintain the cleanliness of the treatment area and front waiting area. Have the ability to follow a task list and complete assigned tasks without requiring micromanagement. Have the ability to identify tasks to complete without having to be told. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with kennel setup and cleaning tasks Skills Experience with dog handling, training, and restraint that demonstrates confidence in managing various breeds and temperaments Veterinary assistant experience that includes animal restraint, administering treatments, or assisting in medical procedures Knowledge of pet care routines including feeding schedules, medication administration, and hygiene practices Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting while maintaining attention to detail Familiarity with animal behavior principles and basic veterinary terminology is a plus Join us in creating a safe, caring environment where animals thrive!
