Our ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, a self-starter, works well with others, and can effectively utilize downtime. Applicants must also be highly organized and detail-oriented. The candidate is expected to possess a working knowledge of canine and feline veterinary issues and excel at client communication and service. This is a brand-new practice that offers general services to Hutto, TX and surrounding communities. We are a full-service practice providing quality care to dogs and cats. Our dedicated team includes an experienced support staff that provides exceptional care. We are a fast-paced hospital looking for an individual who can develop a rapport with clients and has a passion for being the first point of contact for our clients. Quality is our focus, as our compassionate team works together to provide our clients and patients with the highest standard of care. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments with proper animal restraint and handling techniques Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Perform laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care Care for hospitalized animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring vital signs Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing client communications Handle pet care tasks including feeding, bathing, and grooming as needed Assist with animal catheterization, intravenous access, and other technical procedures requiring veterinary expertise Maintain a clean and sterile environment using aseptic techniques during procedures Provide specialized care for different species including dogs and cats when required Ensure safety protocols are followed during animal handling and clinic operations Requirements Previous experience in veterinary clinics or animal hospitals is preferred; kennel experience or veterinary assistant experience is highly valued Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and pet care best practices Skills in animal restraint, medication administration, and laboratory procedures Experience with dog handling, and animal husbandry is a plus Ability to perform veterinary critical care tasks and handle animals safely under stressful conditions Strong communication skills for front desk interactions and client education Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory equipment used in veterinary medicine Animal catheterization skills or willingness to learn are advantageous Knowledge of pet behavior management and animal physiology is beneficial Must have a genuine passion for animal welfare and excellent teamwork abilities This position provides an enriching opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of animals while working alongside experienced veterinary professionals.
