Veterinary Assistant / Technician Clear Falls Animal Hospital is a privately owned veterinary practice that opened less than two years ago. As our hospital continues to grow, we are excited to expand our team and welcome an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Veterinary Assistant / Technician . We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and is committed to providing excellent patient care and a positive experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience working in a veterinary clinic and be comfortable working in a busy small-animal practice. Position Responsibilities Provide compassionate and high-quality care to dogs, cats, and other small-animal patients. Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries. Obtain and accurately record patient histories, temperatures, weights, and other vital information. Safely restrain and handle patients. Collect and prepare laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal samples. Perform or assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, and other diagnostic procedures. Prepare surgical and treatment areas and assist with surgical procedures as needed. Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia and procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records. Clean and maintain treatment, surgical, kennel, and examination areas. Properly clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment. Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding patient care and instructions. Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming hospital environment. Work collaboratively with veterinarians and other team members to ensure excellent patient care. Perform additional duties as needed in a growing veterinary practice.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic . Strong knowledge of basic veterinary medical terminology and procedures. Comfortable handling and restraining dogs and cats. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. Compassionate attitude toward patients, clients, and coworkers. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Preferred:

Veterinary Technician certification/credentialing is a plus. Experience with anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and surgery. Experience with veterinary practice management software.
