veterinary assistant/technician to our incredible team! We're looking for an experienced veterinary assistant/technician to join our brand new, privately owned , veterinary urgent care clinic 3-4 days a week to assist during our busiest times. As an Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant/Technician, you will: Performing phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Offer ideas on how to improve the client and patient experience Assist with monitoring sedated patients Triage urgent care cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Properly calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Have patience and empathy to address client concerns. Be able to conduct oneself in a professional manner Accurately record controlled drugs Help induce and monitor patients under anesthesia Have a knowledge of common veterinary drugs, their uses, side effects and dosages Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment
