Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and assisting in veterinary procedures. Responsibilities
- Provide support to veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks
- Assist in animal handling and restraint during examinations and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and treatment areas
- Prepare and sanitize surgical equipment and instruments
- Monitor and care for animals post-surgery or treatment
- Perform basic laboratory procedures under supervision
- Welcome clients, schedule appointments, and manage front desk duties
- Flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of after-hour on-call responsibilities. Technicians will be compensated. Skills
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or in pet care is preferred
- Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with animal catheterization, intubation and surgical experience
- Ability to handle dogs and other animals safely and with care
- Proficiency in maintaining a clean and sterile environment in a veterinary setting
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
