Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant / Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, compassionate environment, supporting veterinary professionals with essential clinical procedures and client interactions. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal restraint, handling, and positioning during examinations and procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Perform laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic testing to support accurate diagnoses. Operate medical equipment such as radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, and dental tools with precision and care. Prepare animals for surgery by administering anesthesia, monitoring vital signs during procedures, and assisting with surgical assistance tasks. Conduct diagnostic radiology procedures including X-ray imaging, ensuring proper positioning and image quality for accurate interpretation. Administer medications via various routes (oral, IV, IM) following veterinary protocols with attention to detail. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, medication administration, and client communications using veterinary software. Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background demonstrating familiarity with pet care routines. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support clinical tasks effectively. Hands-on experience with IV insertion, vascular access, and animal catheterization techniques. Strong dog handling skills and animal restraint abilities to ensure safety during examinations and procedures. Experience in emergency medicine or critical & intensive care settings is highly desirable. Ability to operate diagnostic radiology equipment and perform radiology diagnostics competently. Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration. Certification or experience in veterinary technician work is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
