Responsibilities Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations and treatments Administer medications and injections following proper aseptic techniques Support pet care activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels or cages Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medications, and laboratory tests Help with laboratory procedures such as sample collection and processing Manage front desk duties including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering phone inquiries Support animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal health and well-being of all animals in the clinic Handle small animals with confidence and compassion Assist with specialized procedures like animal catheterization or handling animals requiring advanced restraint techniques Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to strict infection control protocols Qualifications Prior experience as a veterinary technician assistant or veterinary assistant is required for this role. At least 1 year experience. High School diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic laboratory procedures Strong animal husbandry skills with an understanding of pet care best practices Ability to handle multiple species including dogs and cats confidently and safely Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude A commitment to ongoing learning about veterinary practices and animal health Priority Pet Care Veterinary Hospital provides urgent and emergency-level care without overnight shifts. We are an urgent care hospital designed to bridge the gap between general practice and emergency medicine while delivering high-quality, efficient care at a sustainable pace for our team. Predictable Scheduling - Full-time hours are 35 hours per week, with schedules posted in advance to support work-life balance. We will be extending our office hours at the end of July, at which time full-time hours will be 40 hours a week. While we do require weekend shifts, your time off will be respected. Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
