Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside our veterinarians and technicians to provide high-quality medical care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting in exams, performing basic medical procedures, and helping clients with pet care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and medical procedures. Restrain animals safely during exams and treatments. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Collect samples (e.g., blood, urine) and assist with diagnostic tests. Monitor animals pre- and post-surgery or treatment. Prepare and maintain medical equipment and surgical tools. Ensure a clean and organized treatment area. Educate clients on animal care, nutrition, and treatment plans. Assist in maintaining patient records and updating information as needed. Help with kennel duties, including feeding, cleaning, and caring for animals in the clinic. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting (preferred). Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques. Comfortable working with a variety of animals, including dogs and cats. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a high level of accuracy. Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology is a plus. Compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic about animal care.
Preferred Qualifications:
