!! Tired of private practice, and working on Saturdays? Would you prefer a Monday through Friday schedule ?? Then Come Join Our Team !! Kincheloe Clinic South in Ashland, Virginia is seeking Veterinary Assistants to join our busy high-volume, high-quality Spay/Neuter Clinic. Our environment is
FAST PACED
with a staff committed to reducing animal homelessness. The qualified candidates must be a reliable team player and be able to assist in high-volume spay/neuter procedures (35+ per day) and wellness appointments. Hours are typically 7:30am-5:00pm 2 to 3 days per week. (Hours can vary.)

Responsibilities Support veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and positioning during examinations and procedures Assist with medication administration, including injections and oral treatments, following proper aseptic techniques Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to promote animal health and safety Handle pet care tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior to ensure animals are comfortable and stress-free Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic tests by collecting samples or setting up necessary tools and supplies Support front desk duties including appointment scheduling, client communication, and record keeping to enhance client service experience Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing under supervision Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques to support clinical workflows Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly preferred Experience working in a veterinary clinic or with veterinary technicians is advantageous Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory work is a plus Proven ability to handle animals safely across different species including dogs, cats, and equines Strong understanding of pet care practices, animal handling techniques, and pet safety protocols Knowledge of aseptic techniques, medication administration, and animal catheterization procedures Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail Join us if you're eager to grow your veterinary career in a supportive setting that values energetic teamwork and compassionate animal care.
