Veterinary Assistant/Technician

We have an immediate opening for an outgoing and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant and or Technician. If you are an animal lover who can think of no better way to spend your day, than caring for pets and their owners, this is the job for you. You will be an important part of the team, assisting us in providing the best possible treatment to the pets in our care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS

The veterinary assistant assists the veterinarian with office visits and exams, takes care of the everyday needs of pets in the hospital ward and boarding facility and helps maintain the clinic facility, keeping it neat and clean. An ideal candidate must have these skills and capabilities: Have a positive attitude and Smile freely and often Be passionate about pets Excellent communication and phone skills (pleasant and positive) Good relational skills to attend to clients and visitors to the clinic Attention to detail and great organizational skills Be patient and calm Willing to roll up your sleeves and work hard Ability to restrain pets for the veterinarian Participate in keeping the entire clinic clean, including cages, runs, boarding areas, exam/treatment areas, bathroom and doctor's office Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and front desk area Love working with a positive, close knit team

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Great customer service skills A sense of caring for animals Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for most of your shift Ability to read and understand English Will be required to work some Saturdays and Holidays

PREFERRED BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

Veterinary Clinic or Hospital experience Customer service experience
