In this energetic role, you will be the backbone of our clinic's daily operations, providing compassionate animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a smooth flow of clinic activities. Your dedication to animal welfare and teamwork will help create a welcoming environment where every pet receives top-quality treatment and attention. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety and comfort for both pets and staff. Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas. Administer medications and injections accurately under veterinary supervision, following proper aseptic techniques. Handle animals with care, utilizing proper dog handling techniques and understanding animal physiology to reduce stress. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and assist with diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis. Maintain detailed knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and clinical protocols to support medical teams effectively. Support emergency critical care situations by assisting with patient stabilization and monitoring vital signs as directed. Ensure compliance with safety standards such as aseptic technique and proper animal catheterization procedures during treatments. Contribute to a positive clinic environment by demonstrating excellent animal handling skills and compassionate pet care. Experience Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal husbandry is highly valued. Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred, including familiarity with veterinary terminology and laboratory procedures. Veterinary assistant or technician experience that includes medication administration, animal restraint, and basic clinical tasks is ideal. Strong understanding of pet care, animal physiology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques enhances your ability to excel in this role. Front desk experience supporting client communication and appointment scheduling is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to handle dogs confidently and manage various animals' behaviors ensures smooth daily operations.
