Internal Medicine Assistant Veterinary Specialists of Hanover Join Our Growing Specialty Team! Veterinary Specialists of Hanover is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Internal Medicine Assistant to join our specialty practice. If you have a passion for veterinary medicine, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, we'd love to meet you! As an Internal Medicine Assistant, you'll work alongside our board-certified Internal Medicine specialist, licensed veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide advanced medical care to our patients while delivering outstanding service to their families. Position Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with patient care and treatments Obtain accurate patient histories and maintain thorough medical records Safely restrain patients for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments Prepare patients for advanced procedures and diagnostic testing Collect laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal specimens Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in condition Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound, endoscopy, and other specialty procedures Clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment Educate clients on discharge instructions and prescribed home care Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment while supporting a positive team atmosphere Qualifications Previous veterinary assistant experience is required Specialty or emergency veterinary experience is a plus but not required Strong communication and client service skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Willingness to learn and grow within specialty veterinary medicine Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods Why Veterinary Specialists of Hanover?
