Job Overview - Veterinary Assistant We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our urgent care team. This role is essential in supporting veterinarians and technicians while delivering high-quality, efficient care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Veterinary Assistants at Urgent Paws play a hands-on role in patient care, client communication, and team support, helping ensure a smooth and positive experience for both patients and their families during stressful situations. Responsibilities Assist with patient triage and obtain accurate, urgent-care-focused patient histories Safely and compassionately restrain patients for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments Assist with treatments and procedures as directed by the veterinary team Clearly communicate treatment plan and discharges to clients Handle and lift patients weighing up to 50 pounds Support patient flow and maintain a clean, organized treatment area Communicate clearly and professionally with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff Provide compassionate, empathetic support to clients during urgent and emotional situations Demonstrate a strong collaborative work ethic and positive attitude in a team-centered environment Experience & Qualifications Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced urgent care setting Strong communication and teamwork skills Positive, professional demeanor with a high level of empathy for clients and patients Ability to safely restrain and handle animals and lift up to 50 pounds Join Urgent Paws Veterinary Care and become part of a supportive, collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient care and community support.
