Job Description

Are you a friendly, motivated individual who loves both animals and people? Our busy veterinary practice in Rustburg, Virginia, is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are dedicated to providing top-quality care with warmth and professionalism, and we need someone who shares that commitment. The ideal candidate is confident in safely restraining animals, collecting samples, and educating clients while providing excellent patient care. Job Duties:
Assisting doctors and technicians in the exam rooms, treatment area and surgery Filling prescriptions Restraining pets for exams and treatments Cleaning hospital treatment and exam areas Collect samples (urine, blood, feces, etc.) and running necessary tests Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (intravenous, intramuscular, oral, rectal, etc.) Prepping and monitoring patients for anesthesia Performing dental cleanings
Required Skills:
Passion for working with both animals and people. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Remains calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Proficiency with computer software. Comfortable in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed. Salary- $13-$16/

30-40 hours 4 day work week 8am-5pm Mon-Friday •
No Weekends Requirements:
A minimum of one year experience as a veterinary assistant and/or completion of veterinary assistant course work.
