Veterinarian Lab Assistant

Veterinarian Laboratory Assistant Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Laboratory Assistant to support our clinical staff. The ideal candidate will assist with specimen collection and processing, maintain laboratory management protocols, and ensure adherence to laboratory procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and physiology to contribute to vital veterinarian initiatives. Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to: Assist with specimen collection, processing, packaging, shipping and documentation to ensure accurate laboratory results Maintain laboratory equipment/sanitize and autoclave, supplies, and inventory in accordance with established protocols Support laboratory management by organizing samples, records, and data entry Follow aseptic techniques during sample handling to prevent contamination Perform routine laboratory procedures including fecal testing. Prepare specimens for analysis while adhering to proper specimen collection and processing techniques Assist in maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment Support activities by following detailed laboratory procedures and protocols Collaborate with clinical staff on procedures involving physiology knowledge, anatomy, and veterinary terminology Answer laboratory calls, emergency calls and clinical calls in a very busy setting Process charges and payments for diagnostic testing. Qualifications Prior experience in clinical or research laboratories is highly preferred Knowledge of laboratory management systems and laboratory procedures Proficiency in laboratory techniques Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology concepts Experience with veterinary terminology is a plus Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work effectively within a team environment Prior experience in hospital ,healthcare or veterinarian settings is advantageous This position provides an essential role in supporting diagnostic testing, and patient care activities. Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
