Job Description

MISSION of Overnight Veterinary Assistant:
At The Center of Veterinary Expertise (COVE), the Evening Veterinary Assistant is pivotal in providing high-quality care and support during the overnight hours. This role is crucial for maintaining our exceptional standards of veterinary care throughout the night. As an Evening Veterinary Assistant, you will support various medical procedures and care for outpatient and hospitalized pets. Your responsibilities include preparing for incoming cases, maintaining treatment areas, and ensuring all patients receive attentive, compassionate care. Your commitment is vital to creating a secure, caring, and efficient environment, greatly impacting patient outcomes and client satisfaction.

We are seeking a dedicated, observant, and proactive Evening Veterinary Assistant who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have a robust ability to adapt to various situations, handle the nighttime stresses with composure, and deliver consistent, high-quality care. Experience in veterinary settings, particularly in outpatient care and surgery assistance, is highly beneficial. You should possess excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of veterinary practices, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

Full-Time, Daytime Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour + $2.50 differential
EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in medical procedures during evening operations. Monitor and care for patients throughout the night, ensuring their comfort and safety. Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas. Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Maintain detailed records of patient care and treatments administered during shifts. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless patient care. Engage with pet parents, providing updates and reassurances about their pet's condition.
