Our facility is staffed with board certified specialists in cardiology, surgery, and critical care. What we need : We are presently accepting applications from veterinary assistants with a minimum of 1 year experience in a veterinary practice setting with direct surgical assisting experience. It is favored that applicants be knowledgeable in surgical and sterile techniques, patient prep, and have strong patient restraint skills. An individual in this position must possess excellent communication skills and be proactive in determining the needs of the team and hospital. A successful applicant should enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt to a changing environment. They need to possess a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine and express a positive attitude in their daily work. The individual must be able to communicate effectively, demonstrate critical thinking and professionalism.
Responsibilities :
Understands workflow of the surgery department and ensures efficient daily operation. Provides input with problem-solving efforts for daily operations. Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships across the hospital. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, communication and cooperation among team members. Collaborates with staff at all levels and departments to streamline delivery of services. Collaborates and provides feedback for hiring and onboarding of staff and performance reviews. Coordinates with Surgeon, Team Lead and Facility Manager to ensure equipment needs and expectations are met.
Skills :
Ability to promote effective communication amongst team members. Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions. Ability to be flexible and adapt to the fast pace of the surgery service.

Veterinary Experience:
1 year (Required)

1 year (preferred)
