Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team for a weekend-focused schedule . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a clinic that is raising the standard for both patient care and workplace culture. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and procedures Safely restrain animals for exams and diagnostics Collect and run lab samples (blood, urine, fecal) Take radiographs (X-rays) Maintain clean, organized treatment areas Monitor patients and communicate changes to the team Support clients with clear, compassionate communication Maintain accurate medical records Answer phones, assist with client check-in/out, and float to reception as needed Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent The ability to meet the physical demands of working a shift standing, squatting, walking, lifting and carrying 40 lbs unassisted The ability to work around substances such as animal saliva, blood, urine, fecal material, vomit, etc. Comfortable and able to work with all breeds, temperaments, and sizes of dogs and cats At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience required Urgent care or ER experience preferred but not required Strong animal handling and restraint skills Familiarity with lab work and radiology Comfortable multitasking between clinical and front desk duties Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced setting Team-oriented with strong communication skills Why Join Nexus?
