Your Impact:

The Bridge of Our Clinic As a Veterinary Assistant, you are the crucial link ensuring a seamless workflow between our front-end (Client Care) and back-end (medical) teams. By providing essential support to our Veterinarians and Technicians, you keep the hospital engine humming so we can deliver the highest standards of Hospitality-Focused Care.

What You'll Do Daily:

Patient Handling:

Learn and utilize safe, low-stress techniques to restrain pets during exams, blood draws, and clinical procedures.

Medical & Lab Support:

Gather basic patient vitals, label and prepare lab specimens, pull medication inventory, and safely clean/sterilize surgical instruments.

Hospital Pride:

Maintain a fresh, pristine environment by keeping exam rooms, treatment areas, and the ICU clean, well-stocked, and organized. Take ownership of hospital laundry and strict safety protocols.

Client & Front-End Synergy:

Step up to answer phones during peak hours, check patients in and out of the hospital, and provide warm, empathetic updates to pet parents.

Who You Are An Animal Advocate:

You have 0-1 years of experience in a clinical or medical setting (veterinary experience is a plus, but not required!). You have a strong willingness to learn animal behavior and veterinary terminology.

A Collaborative Teammate:

You uphold the "Richmond Standard" by offering a hand when a colleague is busy, assuming good intent, and bringing positive energy to the floor.

Calm & Professional:

You can use logic and reasoning to solve clinical problems and maintain a calm, steady demeanor in a fast-paced or emotionally taxing environment.

A Great Communicator:

You possess strong verbal and written skills tailored for clear client education and professional staff interactions. Physical Requirements Ability to handle the physical demands of a busy practice, including lifting up to 40 lbs and remaining mobile/standing for long periods during a 10-hour shift.
