Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safety during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and laboratory sample collection Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and sterilization of equipment and treatment areas Help with animal husbandry duties including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal welfare Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas using aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards Record detailed patient information, medical histories, treatment notes, and laboratory results accurately in the clinic's record-keeping system Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, post-operative care, and answering general questions to foster trust and confidence Requirements Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred; enthusiasm for animal care is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to assist effectively in clinical tasks Experience with dog handling, equine care, or animal restraint techniques is highly desirable Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting animals, cleaning kennels, and maintaining a sterile environment Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during procedures Willingness to learn new skills such as laboratory techniques or surgical assistance in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal health who want to grow their career in veterinary medicine.
